First let me point out that I live at 9000ft so this can't be the manufacturer's fault. Always glad not to spend a fortune on ink cartridges, I decided to give it a try. Ink is ink, after all, and $6 saves me a lot of money. What can go wrong. Let me tell you what went wrong. First I turned off the water to change the water filter which was a BIG mistake. The first two ink cartridges were very easy to install. Then I came to yellow. I was like, "I, does it matter what order I remove the tab at the top and the tab at the bottom?" So I removed the tab from the bottom first. Some yellow ink flew from my hands onto the carpet. Remember, my water was shut off and I couldn't just turn it back on. Luckily I had a wet towel from my water filter project and the carpet is beige so I was able to clean it quite effectively. Determined not to let this happen again, I went back to removing the top tongue. Thus the black cartridge was born. Oh my god, black cartridge. I first removed the tongue from the top and then the tongue from the bottom. It was the moment when a lot of black ink spilled over my hands and, you guessed it, onto my carpet. My cleaning cloth was already smeared with yellow ink, so I set about cleaning. What started out as blobs of black ink turned into a fairly large black smudge on my carpet. Ink smears people. Well, the end result of that was a slightly dull black and yellow stain on my carpet and a determination to never change cartridges without a towel.
