Review on Diamond Painting Numbers Decor Dog 16×12Inch by Dawn Fischer

Just not big enough but good materials

As much as it pains me, this is not a great set. The material quality is normal. The problem is the canvas size for the details needed for the image. I enjoy working with religious imagery and have many Diamond Paintings on similar themes. This one is just too small to be more than a color wash. You can sort of see Jesus washing his feet, but it's like looking at the original painting from 50 feet away, mostly indistinguishable with just a hint of the content of the image. It would be much better to use a larger size with more colors for depth of detail. I would set the patience (or skill) level to INTERMEDIATE as the canvas size is average in relation to the number of colors to apply. This screen has 21 colors, which is a bit below average for a screen of this size. You can place longer rows of the same color if you have the right tools to do so (this set includes a 3-drill head), but of course you'll still be dotting in many places. I'd recommend getting a head so you can also place three and six diamonds at a time to go through large areas of the same color faster. Everything you absolutely need for this project is included. My general thoughts on diamond painting: Always check your diamond painting first upon receipt to make sure the adhesive on the canvas reaches all edges of the picture. If not, order a replacement. This is a rare problem and thankfully not encountered with this canvas, but it is the first important step in any project. Diamond painting for me is a relaxing activity, it takes the best parts of puzzle solving and cross stitching and combines them into one activity. The end result is that you get a work of art when you want to use it. Sure, it seems like I'm creating more art than I can realistically use, but for the price of one of these kits, it's cheap therapy. I have a briefcase to store the canvases before and after they are made to keep them flat. The details of the image are certainly not as sharp as in the photo, but make for a pointillist painting with brilliance. I love the art styles of Pointillism and Impressionism, so I like them a lot in many ways.

Pros
  • Better quality and more accessories
Cons
