Review on πŸŽ™οΈ USB Blue Snowflake Microphone by Jerome Pernell

Good Sound with Serious Design Flaws

I had a Blue Yeti but was looking for a decent portable USB mic to use when I'm out of the office. When I found this Snowflake model, I bought it immediately. As expected from Blue, this little mic performed very well as a mic. I had no problem pairing it with both Mac and Windows. Used it with Dragon and it worked fine. The sound quality is good. I have a GoMic and can say it picks up my voice better. However, this model has some serious design flaws. The base is unstable, and in the vertical position, the microphone is quite difficult to place. It also shakes when you hang it on a laptop monitor. Most importantly, the neck where the microphone connects to the body is very small and fragile. I've used it sparingly for a little over a month, but the mic and case ALWAYS fall apart (see photo). I really like Blue Microphone. But unfortunately I have to say that the design of this Snowflake is unnecessarily complex for a portable microphone. The idea was good, but the end result was very poorly put together.
