Whirlpool Energy Star 10,000 BTU 115V is a great manufacturer.

Whirlpool Energy Star 10,000 BTU 115V window air conditioner with remote control for dependable operation. Holds my apartment 450 sq.ft. cool without any problems, despite the design and design flaws of my device. The remote control is not user friendly. The plastic cover protecting the controls is easily wrinkled and torn, but the air conditioner is sturdy.
