I have used these lag bolts for added stability provided by the 5/boot spikes on my waders. At a price of 0.19 per screw, they proved very profitable. They worked very well as I felt the extra stability that 5 studs per shoe alone couldn't provide. The typical recommendation is 10 bog studs per boot, but at nearly $4 per stud, this has become almost prohibitively expensive. These screws made up for the extra difference in support at a much better price. In terms of sheer stability, these bolts may not fully replace the 5 extra studs per boot. But for my money it was the best choice and they offered more than enough stability in 175fps water.
