Review on HP X32C Curved 165Hz FHD Gaming Monitor - 31.5" Certified Display with 1920X1080P Resolution and 1 Audio Jack (Out), VA Panel Type by Derrick Graham

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bought for light gaming but better for work.

I was looking for a 27 inch IPS monitor that would be good for both gaming and working. I couldn't resist when I saw $200 for this monitor and have never regretted it. I set the resolution to 1440p but the refresh rate to 144 because my laptop doesn't have a displayport, only HDMI. For gaming, my graphics card (gtx1060) can't handle it. So I have to play games in windowed mode, but that's a problem with my old laptop. I set the window size to about 27 inches and am happy. What I really like about this monitor is when I'm working. I can open 4 windows without affecting the clarity of the images and the legibility of the texts. That makes my job so easy. And I don't have to turn on my laptop's display (of course I can if I need to sometimes). The screen is bright too. I think I got a really good deal.

Pros
  • Best price for 27" monitor. Very fast update rate. Too bad I haven't updated for a long time.
Cons
  • Uneven illumination.
