This rug is nice and soft, but there is a very strange problem with it. After about a week in my daughter's room, I stepped on it and it got wet. I asked my daughter if she spilled water on it and she said no. So I put it in the sun to dry and brought it back to her room the next day. About a week later I stepped on it again and it was wet again. I looked and felt and it had a chemical smell and it seemed a little oily. I looked at the 1 and 2 star reviews and saw very similar comments about the carpet being damp, smelling like cat pee and having a chemical odor. So the carrier material releases something that wets the fibers. I don't know how long it will last or if it will continue like this indefinitely, but having to take it outside to dry for it to come back is definitely frustrating.
