I have 7 aquariums at home and like to feed the fish in precise portions. I have heavily planted tanks so I have to overfeed a little so the leftover food can be used as nutrients. The downside to this is that if I use too much I can easily cause problems in my aquarium. Specific weights help reduce problems because they make sure I'm not overfeeding. As for scales, I'm tired of using kitchen scales which often aren't small enough to reach what I need. It was perfect for me and I particularly like that it plugs into an outlet so I don't have to worry about changing the batteries in it. There is a folding panel on top of the scale that allows you to account for items that may fall off a flat surface. Taring is quick and easy, as is selecting other modes. I only use one so I can't speak for everyone else. There's also a quick little bubble sight that helps make sure you're on scale level. If it's uneven, the legs are adjustable, which allows it to be leveled. Overall I'm very happy with it. They outperform cheap kitchen scales and are very easy to use.
