I prefer drawstrings to Velcro. Material and construction are very good. Tip and ball are NOT cheap and durable. The only suggestion I would make would be to make the bootie longer over the leg for folding; and the string should be LONGER so that you can wrap the string ONE time around the knuckle of the paw to keep it safe and stable, and the BALL can lie back and not tempt the dog to chew. It is well padded and GREAT for wound healing and comfort. My 12 year old picky pomeranian who weighs 11 pounds loves them and doesn't fight or rush to put them on. The drawstring is very flexible so it fits comfortably around the ankle and doesn't restrict circulation. I would reinforce the bottom and make sure all seams are hidden. GOOD IDEA - and GOOD booties overall. The price is REASONABLE and FAIR. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
