I hate filling balloons with water. That was the main reason I never let my son have them home, but he was dying to have them this summer so I found them and thought we'd give them a try. You were wonderful! You need to push the elastic all the way to the end of the grommet to make sure it doesn't leak when you take it off. We had a water leak on the first batches, but we didn't have this problem again on the next two batches. Maybe two or three didn't fill or had tiny holes and were slowly leaking, but the vast majority filled properly and worked well. I definitely fell and busted more when I was filling the balloons with water one at a time. We filled them with a small pool and used them almost immediately, but it turned out they would last a while if we didn't. I think the biodegradability is good if you send them to landfill, but I was willing to pick them up bit by bit. if birds or animals eat them, it becomes bad. The kids had fun and for the adults it was a lot less labor intensive. Overall it was a lot easier than regular water balloons, can't imagine ever going back.
