I have used the SHARK APEX 5 times with different attachments, I was arguing about the rating. I've used a 20+ pound Kirby and a Dyson in the past. What makes this Shark Apex different is that it's so heavy, but the weight isn't in the head/on the ground, the weight is on the stick controlled with one hand. On the mat with the mat on, it practically pulls itself forward, which is easy, but the effort is invested in all the turns, curves, obstacles and nooks and crannies. Moving this thing to room 2 makes me sweat so much I have to shower and change my clothes if I make 3 rooms or more! It hurts my hand and puts a little strain on my wrist. Maybe I'll develop stronger muscles the more I use it. So it annoyed me at first and avoided it, but after using it around the house I've seen how great it is and I'm thankful for its suction power. I made a carpet ladder made with another vacuum cleaner and after that there was a lot of dust and dirt in the cup, I couldn't believe it. As you walk up the stairs, hold the tank with one hand and use the other to move your head on a short stick. Another nozzle allows you to create a vertical part of the riser. She sucks so hard, when I touched the cat food bowl I didn't realize she had detached from the handle on the bottom and got stuck. When there is a traffic jam, the red traffic light comes on. The troubleshooting guide taught me what to do. When I tried to use it again after the main white light in front and the green light came on, I reread the manual and fixed it by turning it off and just resetting everything. I've never had a machine that uses multi colored lights to alert me to a problem, it's brilliant and easy once you know what to do. dirty and see how quick and easy the SHARK APEX picks it up. For example, when cleaning spilled cat litter, everything worked in just one go. I could clearly see that everything was gone in one go. With a vaunted Kirby, it would take me 3-4 passes to get it all up. It has three settings: carpet and thick carpet, carpet and hard floor. Switching from one to the other is done with your thumb mid-use, this is a very different and improved option than Kirby. Despite training, sweating and arm pain, I give it 4 stars. = Like it as it's really efficient and easy to change accessories and everything works. The cable is unrealistically long, which is very good.
