Review on πŸͺ‘ La-Z-Boy Edmonton Big and Tall Executive Office Chair: Comfort Core Cushions, Solid Wood Arms, Brown Bonded Leather, Waterfall Seat Edge by Lori Lawson

Chair seat failed 6 months ago.

The chair is really uncomfortable. As it is a large and tall chair, its design is adjusted to support heavier/taller people. I thought it would result in longer lifespan, but it actually just reduced comfort with no benefit compared to its lifespan. The back of the chair sits very straight up and down. The recline function of the backrest is severely hampered on these large and tall models and does not allow you to recline very far to reduce the stress that a person with the maximum supported weight can put on the frame and parts. This results in a significant reduction in comfort without increasing the lifespan of the chair. Chair seat broke after 6 months. I'm 5'10" and 240" so even though I was well under the maximum supported weight, within 4 months the seat leather started tearing at the seams on the left side. Stitches on the right after 6 months. At 6 months the seat padding started to fail. Months and after 7 months the seat became hard and uncomfortable to sit on. The SmartGuard extended warranty that I purchased from Revain at the time I ordered the chair is worthless and the warranty company is completely unwilling to fix the issue. SmartGuard simply closes open requests for that chair with no connection. I would avoid SmartGuard extended warranties like the plague, as would these La Z Boy brand chairs. It just showed me that there's no benefit in going beyond and spending money on a mid-range desk chair as they are neither more comfortable nor last longer than their $150 counterparts.
