The dining room chairs looked awful but my kids are so young it made sense to buy new ones now. Even though I could wipe them off, they found a way to rip stuff and there were teeth marks everywhere (like I wouldn't give them food 🙄)! So I started looking for cases and settled on them based on the reviews and also because they are structured. Since the material stretches when you place it on the chairs, the fact that it's textured helps not show my damaged chairs underneath. My damaged chairs are dark so I chose a dark cover. This is one of those "keep it simple" products that work! No need for all the extra bells and whistles, it does what it says on the tin, so no guessing if it's going to work.
