High quality realistic paper. A great way to decorate IKEA furniture.

I have an IKEA bed frame, but I've always wanted a bed frame made from reclaimed wood. However, they cost between $350 and $500. Stumbled across this paper which was only about $15 for the size of roll I needed. Found what I'm missing? I'm glad I went this route! The thickness and quality of the paper is excellent. It's not a textured paper, but the print quality is so good that it looks pretty realistic. Definitely more realistic than IKEA wood look laminate. The peel-off backing has many useful grid lines to help you plan. It is divided into 4 x 4 inch squares. My only complaint is that only every other square has a grid within a grid. It would make more sense to have this microgrid everywhere. The app was definitely a process! Probably around 4 hours for the headboard and 4 hours for the footboard (split over 2 days). Although it has nothing to do with paper. Just the nature of the project as there were many snippets to plan. This is where the grid lines come into play. I was VERY grateful that the paper is forgiving! A little trial and error at the beginning. The paper peels off easily, does not warp or crease. The trick is to apply light pressure as you walk so you can easily pull yourself off if you make a mistake. I used a fluffy cap from a paint roller to do the initial smoothing when applying the paper (to avoid large air bubbles). Once the paper covered the entire surface I used a plastic spatula to gently smooth out the small air bubbles. So yeah, all things considered, I practically got a new bed for $15.

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Mostly ok, but...
