Buy this if you are a FMQ beginner!

I didn't know FMQ could be this easy until I saw a YT video of this open toe foot. I looked, ordered locally and have already made 2 quilts, 6 placemats and a 6ft table runner! I'm a new FMQer so everything has changed!

Great open toe for free form quilt designs!

You get what you pay for and having Brother OEM parts makes a world of difference. I have tried other third party legs and they are not as good. I use a limited edition (circa 2010) Project Runway sewing machine and it works great on it.

  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Great game leg!

My Brother CS6000i is not on the list of machines this foot can be used with, but it works great with it. ), which was a bonus for my car, plus the metal construction is very solid. The slightly arched toes also make it easier to follow the previous lines for echo quilting.

Outstanding quality for the price.

Better than expected, excellent quality for the price. I've been using the plastic quilting foot that came with my Brother machine for 5-6 years (5-6 quilting projects a year) and it's been fine, but lately I've been struggling with it because it had a few stains Wear that catches thread. I really like the design of this metal and it looks like it will be very durable. I'm good at investing.

  • One year trial

This leg is great! Arrived today

This leg is great! It arrived today and I immediately put it on my machine (Brother SE 400) - after lowering the feed combs (on the back of the machine) I found that the sewing foot worked very well. Of course I need a bit of practice free motion sewing as I've never done it before but it was very smooth and I was VERY pleasantly surprised at how versatile this machine is - buying this presser foot saved me so much money on a possible purchase of one Sewing foot saved separate quilting machineโ€ฆ

Exactly what this quilting machine needs

There is a "cheaper" quilting foot but I found this foot worked for my brother and I'm glad I got it . I thread a lot for my quilts and this foot works like a charm. I am now learning many techniques since I have the Open Toe SA187. I have a "darning foot" but that's really what I want, so thanks. I learned to read reviews before buying and Revain stock many Brother products. By the way, this quilting foot is made of metal and the other one is made of plastic. Have fun knitting.

Pros
  • Especially useful for zigzag and decorative stitches
Cons
  • Expensive

Superior Quality Sewing Machine Parts & Accessories

I had a cheap quilting foot that I set up on the go to learn how to quilt with free motion. The modification I made didn't allow the foot to move up and down, it just slid across the quilts. This one I didn't modify in the same way, and the shiny chrome leg that moves up and down drove me crazy. The bright light from the sewing machine gave me a headache. So I bought a clear matte nail polish and painted my leg to make it matte. VERY helped. The manufacturer should provide a matte surfaceโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

I am delighted with this purchase - Brother machine SQ0185

I was concerned that this leg might not fit my car model but it fit without any problems. I'm amazed at how much easier it is to quilt with this foot (as opposed to the plastic foot that came with my machine). I'm new to fmq'ing and had nothing to compare the plastic leg to. But now that I've used the open metal it's a lot easier for me. The plastic leg made it difficult to see things - the plastic covered/distorted the area I was trying to see. Metallic makes things much more visible. Alsoโ€ฆ
