Review on Tripp Lite LCR2400 Conditioner 12 Feet by Brian Trujillo

Update: Based on Tripp-Lite's comment on my original review, I contacted support and they replaced my LCR-2400 . The new device, while not perfect, is much quieter. I've upgraded my rating to 4 stars due to Tripp-Lite's improved performance and excellent customer support. ************ Original Review Below ************ * I bought this air conditioner for use on a home theater stand but the hum is too loud to handle to be used anywhere near the listening range. If you can place this device out of earshot, then the device is of great value. However, I gave this unit 2 stars because Tripp Lite advertises this unit for home theater use but fails to disclose the hum generated by this unit during normal operation, making this unit truly unusable in any quiet room. If your AV equipment is in a rack away from your listening range, that equipment is probably fine, but the hum is pretty loud. If I don't send the unit back I can rack it up and keep it in a closet (for PC gear) but my search for a QUIET unit suitable for use with AV equipment continues.
