Premium spotting scope at a top price

I decided on this spotting scope because I was very impressed by the GoSky 10x42 binoculars. I wanted to add more powerful optics to my gear that I take with me on geological field work. Again I was very impressed. This spotting scope came in very secure packaging that is fully encased in a secure foam cutout. It's good to know that a manufacturer takes such care when shipping their product. My immediate reaction to this scope is that it mimics another optics brand that specializes in spotting scopes. However, this other brand has similar ranges in the $899 to $1500 price range. My GoSky oscilloscope is $289.99 at the time of purchase. The GoSky scope is equipped with an 80mm lens that collects the light very well. This means more accurate colors when looking at objects during the day. The larger lens also allows you to see more celestial objects at night. With this scope I could clearly see individual craters on the moon. The GoSky scope feels massive and solid. That is a good thing. It is important to understand that you will need a stable tripod when using this scope. Your image will be too shaky when using this scope handheld. This is to be expected with most optics above 10x magnification. The zoom function is located on the eyepiece and can be adjusted from 20x to 60x magnification. It feels smooth and firm when adjusted. The two-stage focus is in front of the eyepiece. This also works as expected and allows you to very fine tune the clarity of the image. The included scope is a bit flimsy and fits snugly, but gets the job done. My only complaint is that the scope doesn't fit in a bag with a tripod attached. There's a zipper for that at the bottom of the case, but it still requires a bit of maneuvering to get it right. That's not a problem for the price and just a nitpick. The included phone camera mount works great. With little effort, I placed the camera in the mount and attached it to the scope. After that, no more adjustment was necessary. In addition, GoSky offers a small brochure to help you improve your image with this mount. Finally, this scope is equipped with a side swivel that allows the scope to be rotated on a tripod. This is useful when you want to change the angle at which you look into the eyepiece. I highly recommend this area!
