I was looking for a new Bluetooth speaker, I had the first generation Bose Audio Link Color. Since Amazon is great and I can easily return things, I ordered the Bose Soundlink Revolve ($200) and this JBL Flip 5 ($70). ? Yes and no. I use Spotify all the time. A lot of people don't know, but Spotify has a Mix Board feature that lets you control everything over audio, including bass. With the mixboard function disabled, the Bose sounds slightly better than the JBL. When it's off, the JBL sounds MUCH better than the Bose regardless of the mixer, especially the bass. The only thing Bose really gains here is that sound is spread evenly in all directions, as it was intended. However, JBL does the same if you crank it up loud enough. Of course, the Bose I wanted to keep was sent back in favor of a cheaper, more durable (waterproof) and better sounding JBL. Well done JBL!
