Review on πŸ”Œ StarTech.com 6-inch USB 3.0 Extension Cable (USB-A Male to USB-A Female) - USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbps) Port Saver - Black (USB3EXT6INBK), 0.5 ft by Adam Jenkins

With this cable, the data transfer speed has dropped to the level of USB 2.0.

I bought this to use with a 2TB Fantom Greendrive USB 3.0 hard drive in combination with the short 90cm USB 3.0 cable that came with the drive. Unfortunately, the data transfer speed I observed when using this extension cable was the same as when using a regular old USB 2.0 cable. The following test results are from CrystalDiskMark v.3 in three configurations with the same drive: 1. Using the original USB 3.0 cable that came with the drive, 2. Using the original USB 3.0 cable along with this extension cable, and 3. Using it a normal USB 2.0 cable. I will be returning this cable and trying a longer 3.0 cable instead of an extension. --------------------------------------------------------------- - -----------------------one. Pros
  • IMPROVES PERFORMANCE: The extension cable allows you to connect multiple devices at the same time, e.g. B. Flash drives, and allows you to access ports even if they are close to each other.
Cons
  • Something else
