I got them for bike use only. I used to have a standard bike floor pump in my car, but it broke. I resorted to my 12 volt car air pump, but that was even more of a hassle than a floor pump. Basically I needed something to get it up to the right pressure and also in case I had to change the hose. So far it's been a great replacement. I can easily connect, refuel, clean up and drive. It's not quiet or super fast, but it gets the job done. I chose this model because of its size. I keep it in a 28 ounce bottle and keep it in a second towel bottle holder so it doesn't bounce around and it fits in nicely with a hose. It would probably also fit nicely in some large panniers. It's not that big, but it weighs a little. Drivers concerned about weight may want to use CO2 blowers or mini hand pumps, but they're still convenient to keep in the car. The only downside I found is that the display is hard, almost impossible to see in the sun. But holding my hand to create the shadow works well enough. It's really good for what it is, but be realistic about what it can do. Tires for motorcycles, ATVs, etc. should fit, but I wouldn't recommend this for a car or truck. While this might seem like a handy glove box for roadside emergencies, personally I wouldn't count on anything other than a slightly flat tire. Inflating a completely flat car tire is likely to drain the battery and may even burn this little thing. I would recommend a standard 12 volt air pump for this.
