Review on πŸ–€ Dorman 47106 Automatic/Manual Transmission Shift Boot, Black - Ideal for Compatible Models by Jeff Westra

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good part, but tricky decision, so proceed accordingly.

Appears to be more robust than the original. It can be very difficult to put on and adjust, so the buyer must be careful. Most of the time, GMC and Chevy share the same fix, but this is one of those rare occasions when the screws, bolts, and bodywork differ between models of the same year. For example, I have a 2001 GMC Yukon XL and there are no screws or bolts holding the steering column cover together. Usually you unscrew these parts and put on this boot. Some SUV/Truck owners may have screws, some may not. I would suggest that before you buy you do some research on your model and how you are going to assemble it.

Pros
  • Economic solution - offers OE quality at a competitive price
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen
