Review on Computer acoustics Edifier R1100 dark wood by Agata Konarska ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The item was good, I'll recommend it to my friends.

Decided to retire the old 2.1 F&D SPS-828 system. Something began to junk and, in principle, annoyed by the constant hum from the transformer. The choice fell on Edifier due to the large number of positive reviews on the network. Unfortunately, due to the current realities, I prefer not to go shopping and listen to technology live. However, on YouTube I found a video comparing the R980T and this model. I immediately liked this model in terms of sound, but then I did not take into account the features of my room. Before that, I had two woofers on the table and a subwoofer directly under the table, and everything suited me. As soon as I installed the R1100 on the table, I was shocked by the terrible sound quality, the low frequencies resonated too "coolly" and an indistinct mess was obtained. It was immediately revealed that the matter was in their installation on a table, which is also hollow inside. After that, I put them on the shelf and the situation changed dramatically for the better. The shelf also resonated a bit, so I put in a soft material (soft sealing tape) and the resonance almost disappeared. The speakers played as expected, but they failed to replace a full-fledged subwoofer, which is no wonder. In general, I was pleased with the sound quality and the absence of hum when idle (now I can safely leave them on). Their good reviews are well deserved and justified. I recommend them, but be careful with the place of their installation! I put 4 stars, not 5, because the price for them (5400 wooden ones including shipping) did not quite live up to my expectations.

Pros
  • -The presence of tweeters and interesting woofers - Relative silence when idle - Decently loud for residential use
Cons
  • - Undefined or poorly perceptible bass control -Lack of high adjustment -Lacks a bit of clarity in the mids (due to the buildup of basses by the same woofer)
