I bought these cubes to organize my honeymoon trip to Europe as we wanted to take a suitcase instead of checking in a bag and we were traveling between countries and wanted the ease of use of public transport with our luggage . As many other reviewers have noted, the large one is quite large. It takes up the full size of carry-on luggage (19-21 inches) but only half the height. If you have hard carry-on luggage, it takes up the whole side; If you have a soft side, a layer of packaging is needed. The second time I was traveling to my parents' house, I put a large one in my backpack without anything so I could put all my dirty laundry in it. The cube is a good size, it fits 4 outfits (4 shirts and 2 pants). This cube is half the size of the big one. The little one is not too small as it goes with 2 outfits. I was able to fit a knee-long raincoat and full gear in this cube. The small cube is about half the size of average. The long "prisms" are great for tank tops, small summer clothes, pajamas, underwear, socks, etc. I used one to organize all of my dog's sweaters, worked great. I can pack one medium, one small, two prisms and toiletries in my carry-on. I also had room for another pair of shoes. I think you can put another small or medium cube in your suitcase when you change shoes or some toiletries. I'll probably buy more medium and small cubes for future trips to keep everything organized.
