I just ordered and received the third one. My first two went the same way as all the others - the charging port broke. You can wiggle and charge the cord occasionally, but more often than not you throw it away once it breaks. Why did I buy a second one and now a third? Because this thing is very comfortable on my big mittens and the extra battery life is irrelevant. I strongly suspect that this won't have this problem - here's what I did. 1. Take it apart (don't miss the screw under the center label on the underside of the back panel!). This will void your warranty. release.2. Take a hot glue gun and heat it up.3. Locate the USB connector and seal the back completely with glue. This provides some protection when connecting and disconnecting cables. Be careful not to get the glue inside the connector where the cable is inserted.4. Put the block back together. Don't skimp on the screws, put them all back, you want them nice and tidy. You could stop here and probably extend the lifespan, but I like to push things forward, so I've gone a little further. 5. Order a set of magnetic USB cables: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BXB6W4V6. Seal the connector port with hot glue (not too tight this time), again being careful not to get it inside.7. While the glue is still wet, insert the USB end of one of these cables into the connector and insert securely and securely. Set of 3. When all is said and done, you should now have a battery grip that charges while you have it. Much luck!
