Review on Adjustable Thimble Protector for Quilting - Essential Quilting Accessories by Sasha Hsiao

The thimble I forgot to take off

I love it. I have large, awkward fingertips and finding a comfortable thimble that stays out of the way has been a journey. I took her quilting. Now this is my thimble for all my handwork. This allows me to work more naturally. Unlike some styles of thimbles, it gets more comfortable the longer I wear it, and I often forget it's there after a while. It will not fall when opening the door or other short breaks. It is easy to resize and adapt to any shrinkage/swelling. Very good on the fingers. But on a day off it's okay to put some friction tape on your finger (ask at the hardware store - it's usually in the electricians department. Keeps you from blisters etc but still allows blisters to form). If you're like me AND you may find yourself catching thread in your teeth when sewing overlock or overlock stitches at high speed - just wrap a piece of tape around the teeth and body of the thimble and no problem!

Pros
  • This vintage brass open-sided thimble is perfect for long nails
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
