NOT for large coils. The pins go up 3 reels if that helps.
I bought this because I thought it could hold larger spools of thread. Although it's my fault. Large spools are VERY large for this. I got around this by using my 3D printer to print the base for spools of thread, which can then be used to sit on wooden pegs without falling off. It's not bad. Admittedly I had never seen these Irls before so I was surprised how small she actually was when I got her. It holds 40 spools of thread so isn't too small but I guess I expected it to be a bulkier type of wood. In general it works. No complaints.
