No escape protection. It's a cute harness and fits well, but when I tell my cat how cute he is, he just slipped out of the harness as soon as I brought him to the yard. He climbed a tree, jumped the fence that led into the woods behind our house, and took off like a rocket. He didn't return home until the next day. The velcro strap that attached the seat belts barely had any strength when I first got it. After the first 10 seconds of wearing, the Velcro is barely holding together. I thought an additional buckle closure to fully close the harness would increase security, but it doesn't.
