The first thing that struck me when I opened the box was how well the case allows you to carry it around in your bag without damaging that stand or anything else. When companies produce high quality accessories, this usually results in good/excellent quality of the main item. This stand is really sturdy and feels very nice and heavy in the hand. Not heavy, but the light weight gives me peace of mind that my heavy laptop won't crush it. The second thing I noticed was the plastic covers on all the coasters throughout the stand which help keep them in place on the table and reduce metal to metal friction. Let me say again that they had plastic covers for the rubber pads on all the pads. From the simple ones that touch the table to the tiny ones that just support the entire device. I know others have said that the glue on their pads has come loose, nothing a speck of super glue couldn't fix (this hasn't happened to me yet); I wouldn't consider this a gasket as I'm sure the glue will eventually dry. clay does it. My wife uses it for her Suface book and it's really strong and keeps her laptop secure on the table. The adjustment allowed is really good to be almost flat to almost vertical. Excellent purchase!
