After struggling to order thread online from a fabric store and being frustrated by the quantity and cost per spool, a friend suggested I try binding of threads to try. I ordered a set of 5 salt and pepper spools knowing I would find it easy to use neutral colors. Not only do you get more bang for your buck, the thread works great with my 1982 Kenmore 1340 machine. No skipping, skipping or tying the thread which is so typical of the more established brand I have always used. I will definitely order more. One concern I had was when I was winding the spool. The spool of thread dangled from my pole so it wobbled and I was thankful it didn't fly off and hurt someone or something! I looked online for adapters but didn't want to pay more than $20 for one and wasn't sure if they would work with my machine. I found a very easy way to wind up the thread: a piece of plastic drinking straw, the size you get at fast food fude. Room for milkshakes! I cut off a piece to stick on a spoon pin and it works great! I haven't tried it for winding, but it works smoothly with normal sewing without jerking. Happy sewing! :)
