Review on 🐾 Petmate Ultra Vari Kennel: Premium Carrier for Small Pets up to 15 lbs in Bleached Linen by Erica Jackson

I have already built three of these nurseries 8-20 years ago, all of the same model. The oldest are the most durable, but the later models were still fairly durable. But this new one is complete bullshit. First, it doesn't match the product image at all. It's dingy gray with black painted grilles and ugly as hell. Second, I can bend the plastic with one finger, it's so thin that window screens and doors are less secure. Even the door locking mechanism is weaker. Finally, and most disappointingly, the carry handle, which used to be riveted, is now a very thin and extremely cheap piece held in place by plastic snaps. It will not work. Thin plastic and a total lack of hardware make this kennel dangerous. Look at my photos, the blue kennel is the same model and size but probably over 8 years old and much better quality. This brand used to be one of the safest… not anymore. I really needed this replacement part for immediate use so I might stick with it but I seriously want to return it on principle. If you send a pet, I'm sure I can find a better kennel. Ignore old five star reviews if this product isn't what you're going to get.
