So many years ago I had one of those 3 barrel perms and used it on my much shorter hair. I made the mistake of smearing it on every strand of my hair and ended up with what looked like lasagna noodles to her and decided the idea for this product was just bad and got rid of it. After learning a few things and realizing that adding volume to the roots of my already thick hair isn't worth it, I decided to give it another try. I have parted my hair into two low ponytails and just curled them, I don't do the top of the hair just the length. I tried it quickly and it took maybe ten minutes and this time it worked much better. Next time I'll make a few smaller strands and spray them with hairspray. My hair is thick and coarse and getting it to hold a curl is an ordeal. In general I am satisfied
