Like all Strict Leather items, this collar features excellent workmanship and quality materials. Although it is not clear from the picture, the entire inner layer of the leather collar is smooth. It has no rivets or eyelets that could scratch the wearer's neck. And yes, I mean the layer, because the collar consists of three layers of leather sewn together. Please note the collar has three D-rings, not two as shown in the photo. On the other hand, the hardware feels lighter than the hardware on the corresponding premium wrist and ankle cuffs. The D-rings are thinner and the buckle doesn't feel as thick despite the same design. This is unlikely to be a problem as these fittings will not withstand the stress that sleeve fittings carry. But it would be even better if they matched. One last thing I can't fault them for, as clearly stated in the description, this collar is WIDE! I didn't realize how wide the 2 1/2 inches were until I placed them on my submissive. It effectively becomes a postural collar, keeping her neck and head upright. Again, this is not a defect but something to measure and consider before ordering. Due to the smooth rolled edges of the leather, the collar is also comfortable to wear in width. On the positive side, the width of the collar distributes any load on the neck over a wider area and is therefore safer than thinner collars.
