I think these vent plugs are seconds. 1 step was excluded from the production process. The vent cover slides on the axis it rotates around when you rotate it up or down. The mount for this axle needs to be shaped like a "C" so that it stays on the axle. The receiver on these vent caps is U-shaped and just falls off. It is now the consumer's responsibility to fix this before it rains. I've probably done this 20 times in my life in less than 20 minutes. 3 hours at 94 degrees heat because I don't have a sheet metal workshop. You'll need a double steel pin that looks like a long screwdriver of the same circumference to bend the receiver around, minus the locking tabs that hold it to the vent base. Spend more and work less. I have too much to do without wasting my vacation on failed quality control!
