Review on 🌱 Hefty EcoSave Compostable Paper Straws: A Greener Alternative, 50 Count, White by Chris Dildine

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I like the ecological aspect, the compostable aspect and the impact. I hate the taste and texture.

Love what they have done with the idea of composting and being more eco friendly as straws are a big problem in waterways. They're lightweight, about the size of a straw, and easy to carry. They affect over time because they decay, they are not harmful if someone eats them and you can easily mine them in the garden. The problem for me is that they are awful to touch and taste. I've tried them and they are both hard and soft like paper. It's an odd texture. It also tastes like paper. With every sip I can smell and taste the paper product. I'll probably get used to that over time, but it's just not for me. I've tried whitening my teeth with a straw, but I just keep drinking. It's a shame because I love the idea, but the peak of smell, taste and texture put me off. The idea is great, but the implementation leaves a lot to be desired. I rarely use paper or plastic products, but if I had to I would still consider them because of their biodegradability. I might use them here and there, but they won't be my everyday choice.

Pros
  • Paper and Plastic
Cons
