Review on 🚽 Organize and Accessorize with Ginsey Home Solutions Idea Factory Potty Hook/Storage Hook! by Peggy Petty

Good idea, but it's too hard to put the pot in and take it off the hook.

We bought a potty hook to set my preschooler's potty on in case someone else needs to use the toilet in the guest bathroom. The end goal was also for my daughter to learn how to put on and take off the potty on her own so that she could go to the toilet by herself. It seemed like a good idea in theory, but in practice this pot was a headache. First, it is very difficult to get the potty to securely hook onto the toilet bowl. We tried it on 3 different toilet brands and it didn't fit properly on one of the cisterns after you put the cistern lid on. I have never managed to hang the hook over the tank like it does in the product photo. I ended up having to awkwardly hang the pot on the corner of the tank, which is the only place it could fit with the gas cap closed. But the corner of the tank is an awkward place to hang a potty seat, since anyone sitting on the toilet will bang their hand or back against the potty seat. Second, even for an adult, let alone a small child, it is very difficult to install or remove the potty seat from this hook. We've tried unpadded potty seats from Baby Bjorn and Munchkin, as well as padded potty seats from Ginsey and First Years, and neither could be hung or unhooked without much disappointment. You cannot hang the potty seat handle on the potty hook when the seat is facing out (away from the tank) as shown in the product photo. So you have to hang it with the much less attractive bottom of the pot facing out. And to get the pot off the hook, you have to wiggle and twist the handle until you can pull the hook. This is a task that certainly requires more manual dexterity than the average toddler. After all, the potty hook now sits useless under the sink in the guest bathroom, instead I attached a 3M adhesive hook to the wall next to the toilet. Now both my daughter and our guests can sit on and off the toilet without a headache. Grade: C
