Review on Denso 234 9023 Fuel Ratio Sensor by Sam Doucette

My 2002 Toyota Rav 4 finally gave out codes P1135 and P1155 after 214,000 miles. These are the bank 1 and bank 2 sensors. I would say it was a good run with original parts. When I went to my local parts store they charged $180 for an unnamed brand and I asked if it would last half as long as the original part. Well, thank goodness for that part about Revain. Not only is it an OEM part, it's also $80 cheaper. I immediately saved $160. When it came time to install them I was a little hesitant as the originals have been installed on the exhaust for over a decade. Everywhere I've read on the internet has recommended warming up the engine before attempting to remove it. To my surprise, the instructions that came with the sensors say they must be removed at engine bay temperature. I decided to try the room temperature method first and see what happens. Lo and behold, they came off without a fuss. What a relief! Ten minutes later I was done. Now I've never reset fault codes from the trip computer to see if the new sensors will solve the problem. After driving the car for about 30 minutes and then parking it for a couple of hours, the check engine light went off. Done, done and done again. Don't buy unnamed sensors, which can be a gamble on whether they will last or not. Buy this OEM part from Revain and get it right the first time.
