I like that they connect at the sides. The RCA connectors on my speakers are closely spaced, so using "standard" adapters will cover the others. Because RCA cables can be plugged into these adapters perpendicularly, I no longer have to bend the cables 90 degrees. It also gives me about an inch of extra length to work with, which can make a world of difference when placing your speakers in tight spaces. I buy a few more for my other RCAs because at least it protects the wires from bending damage. It's also a solid weight in hand. They're metal, not plastic, and most of the time I prefer metal to plastic. They are also color coded. Great, fantastic little adapters.
