Review on Black 30-inch Screen Shot by Lippert Components: Enhancing Your Viewing Experience by Joey Gilbert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works as intended on awnings, screens and accessories

It's not very powerful but with little effort or when closed from the open position it works well and won't slam the screen door. It doesn't close the outer door when a screen door is latched to it, but in that case that would just be a bonus. The tube containing the spring and strap was too short (22" model) for the fittings to be tight on the ends, but I just took some cardboard from the box it came in, and inserted it at the end with the feather to lengthen it . in general, to be neat. It would probably be fine without it, but I wanted some more surface area to make contact with the door when it pushed. The strap that goes into the door frame had an extra strap after it snapped in, but you can cut it off. and melt the end to keep it from wearing out. It may be best to insert the bolt as deep into the frame as possible to get maximum compression from the spring.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not automatic
