I love the simplicity of this wireless lavalier mic system, it simply and automatically syncs up when you turn on the transmitter and receiver. Change recording volume. However, keep in mind that by increasing the volume of the recording, you also increase the amount of static noise that you need to erase and then edit. the digital voice recorder made a very destructive noise. To fix this I simply connected the transmitter to a small 3 foot 1/8 inch extension cord to keep the receiver as far away from the digital recorder as possible. I really like that you can connect a set of balanced headphones to the receiver via the 1/8" jack to control the transmitter's mic output. You can also use the transmitter on its own without connecting it to a lavalier mic, which is great for really quick on-the-go recording, one step down. The sound is no better than the Pro's Road video mic in my opinion, which might be a silly comparison, but in case you're wondering, I tested it with the current video mic and the previous Pro video mic in both of Mike's mics. in general, Richard's sound became deeper. But then again, this is an apples-and-oranges comparison. In addition, lavalier microphones can be connected directly to a digital recording device such as a work camera, or directly to your camera or DSLR. However, you will need the included adapter to record from your phone. This will be a 1/8" adapter with 3 black rings instead of 2 black rings.
