This is a high quality pen. I am very happy with this purchase. About a month ago I noticed that my aging mother was unable to step from the sunken den to the kitchen. As the day wore on, her knee became less flexible and she had to "walk up" to get over the step. I could easily have foreseen the accident when one day she would not lift her leg high enough to get over the step. I imagined her stumbling forward, further injuring her already stiff knee, or worse, breaking her hip in the fall. After seeing her way into the kitchen, I realized that she needed a handle on the panel so she could use her upper body strength to pull her safely into the kitchen. This handle is the perfect size for a comfortable grip and has 2 screw holes on each end for security. It's securely attached and looks great against the dark walnut background. Mom said that she even "caught" dad by the hand. For anyone who made that sad step in their ranch home, this pin could solve your problem for years to come. Now I don't have to worry about getting a call about my mom having a bad fall and it's worth every penny. One of the owners even contacted me personally to make sure I was happy with the purchase.
