I wanted to upgrade my 360° camera after I found out that my camera (different brand) is not supported. :( I started looking online and found that Insta360 was a great option for me. Manual control is one of the main features I wanted. Price was good. Software and hardware support was great as well appreciated. I was just checking out the possibility of buying an Insta360. Few people got their hands on the Insta360 One R when it came out. I was impressed with the modular design, native waterproofing and the future potential of the module It wasn't for me I just had to wait a bit to get my hands on it So far I've been very impressed with the One R I love that I can set it to auto and it does a great job of recording of videos/images but when it gets difficult I can go to full manual control and take a picture.It can be from simple to complex it's up to you.The live preview on phone or touc hscreen is great te feature. The Apple Watch trigger is nice. I like the fact that you don't have to cover it in case (which reduces/kills the sound) for rain/splash protection. I've seen some people complain about the gap between the case and the battery. If you look at how the pins fit when plugged in, that's not a problem. I need to work more with the app to get the cool effects this system is capable of. Most of the time I just export videos/images to my VR headset and share the experience. I had an issue with the camera when trying to do a time lapse on my bike so I can't say it's perfect but judging by the frequency of updates (about once a month). I don't expect this to remain an issue for long. I think the company behind this camera will be adding features and improvements to keep it fresh and usable for some time to come. Overall I am very happy with the quality and performance of this camera and would recommend it to anyone in the action camera market. The biggest problem I'm currently facing is the lack of themed material due to the closure of theme parks and other places. Can't wait to capture videos/images in conditions my old camera couldn't handle due to lack of control.
