I really think you should get it if you buy camera with lens pack but you don't get it so don't cry like spilled milk . Just like organic wild unicorn milk, you essentially have to shell out a premium for a $25 piece of plastic. However, it serves its purpose and makes a noticeable difference to shots taken outdoors on a sunny day. Works great with my Canon 70D and 18-135mm IS STM lens. Holds securely and can be easily flipped when not in use. I think it's worth getting the Canon branded version for the extra cost. You don't want your only wild unicorn photo to be ruined by light reflection.
