Review on πŸ“· Tamron AF 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di-II VC Lens: All-in-One Zoom for Nikon APS-C DSLR Cameras by Minoru Koshida ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Everything is fine, there are only minor drawbacks.

Good lens, drove to the mountains. This is the lightest "station wagon", I shot panoramas, portraits and macro on the D5100 - all handheld. There is practically no movement - 10% of raw shots, and then if you bring it closer to disgrace. We set a fixed aperture of 7.1-8 (mode A), ISO 100-200-350, and everything works out for you: the chrome aberrations go away, the depth of field is sufficient. The bokeh is pleasant - "not nuts". You don’t need to aperture anymore, (if without a flash), otherwise the details disappear. The picture is juicy even without correction in the editor, the "barrel" is not very noticeable. Protective glass is a must buy, the lens is close. It is advisable not to use the extreme zoom values - 10% of the scale at the beginning and at the end - there is the most distortion

Pros
  • light, fast, fairly light, versatile - macro + tele and most importantly ADEQUATE PRICE
Cons
  • plastic, sometimes (very rare, you have to wiggle in the mount) does not come into contact with the camera, the glass resolution limit is 16 megapixel matrix
