I have several comparisons between the original Weller tip that came with the WESD51 and the resulting tip, which is the best in shape and weight next comes, carried out. I did this because the tip I was going to use from this product set did not melt 96% tin and 4% silver at 450F like the new model WESD51 soldering station did. The result of multiple test iterations was that I had to set the WESD51 station at about 465F (15F higher or near the top of the borehole) to get the same results. I'm not sure if the difference is due to an inner coating with less than ideal thermal conductivity or a small difference in size. Is $2 a tip better than $7 a tip for Wellers? Can't say at the moment as I don't have enough experience to compare durability. I find this to be a good set for determining the types of nozzles you want to use, but for critical applications I might just go with Wellers. It should be noted that the seller offers an incentive for a positive rating. . While things like this can be helpful in getting your product to show up in Revain searches, they can cast doubt on the credibility and credibility of the reviews. I wish Revain had a way to prevent this from a seller's perspective as authentic reviews are very important to me.
