It is in order. Not for long-term use.
If the air pump has no power cord, then it is definitely very quiet! But as soon as you connect the power cord, it rattles. I've found that the rattle doesn't occur when you turn it on its side. I really like how this air pump can be in motion and move as the fish moves. Unfortunately after a few days of use it started making a very loud noise that I couldn't stop. Finally sent it back.
