Review on πŸ‘— Melissa & Doug Deluxe Magnetic Dress Up Set: Endless Dress-Up Fun for Kids! by Arun Berry

Revainrating 2 out of 5

No box lid - cannot be carried around

I bought this wooden/magnetic 'paper doll' toy for a 4 year old girl who likes to dress up a lot. I grew up with paper dolls where the tongues didn't hold the paper clothes on the doll at all, so I think this magnetic version is a great idea. The set looks good. I particularly like the wooden stands on which you can display your fashion creations. There are many clothing options. However, there are two reasons I'm giving 2 stars. First, it is difficult for an adult to figure out how to adjust the length of pants and shoes so that they do not become uncomfortably separated or overlapped. Second, there is no top lid on the drawer/drawer - for example a retractable plastic lid or even a handle on the drawer/box. The parts can easily be scattered (or lost) and not taken to grandma or anywhere else. These two factors caused the child to lose interest in the toy very quickly. It now sits untouched on the shelf.

Pros
  • Great general specs
Cons
  • Almost never
