Review on ☕ Hario V60 'Buono' Drip Kettle: Stovetop Gooseneck Coffee Kettle, 1.2L, Stainless Steel, Silver – A Sleek and Efficient Brewing Essential by Omar Gonzales

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The quality of this product is disgusting. if made in China.

I was a little overwhelmed when I received this item. The box it came in had a slight bulge (you can see it in the first photo) as if the product inside was larger than the box actually was. I turned it over and saw the words "Made in China" on the bottom. I double checked the Revain description of this product and it says Made in Japan. I checked the Hario website and they also stated that this kettle is made in Japan. I opened it to inspect the teapot itself, maybe just a box made in China, but on the bottom of the teapot I found the mark "Made in China". The kettle is cheap, light and thin to the touch, more like galvanized sheet metal. than stainless steel (see the photos of the bottom of the kettle). The welds on the spout were poor, the lid didn't fit quite snugly so if you pick up the kettle and tilt it the lid slips. I haven't tinkered with it and prepared to return it. I went to my local deli On The Table (in French) where they stocked this kettle and the price was right. The one they had was made in Japan so I compared them. There is absolutely nothing to compare. The qualities were like day and night. (Chinese product on the left or in the first picture, Japanese product on the right or in the second picture) If you are interested in this teapot I would recommend buying it locally to ensure you are getting one made in Japan.
