Bought for some outboard rebuild projects; I took apart a 99 Force 40 HP that was in rough condition and completely rebuilt it. It was basically my practice engine for another 60hp Merc 2-stroke I have with a bad piston (the latter I can resell for a lot more money). There were 2 locating pins on the motor mount where the washer sits between the leg and the adapter plate (adapter between the leg and powerhead) that SHOULD NOT move. So I was finally able to get her out. Tips: Tighten the Bejesus by the collet when you put it on the pin to be pulled. If they are smooth or pointed, they are removed immediately. I used a separate wrench (13/16" I think...) to hold the spacer while I tightened the double ended threaded rod. Strength. Gradually pulling I find it slipping off. Also, when I first received the set it had the wrong collets - they were duplicate sizes of the pair and the others were missing. As usual Amazon came and promptly replaced it and the spares kit had all the correct parts (I assume eventually on. luckily the one i needed was in the set (actually there were 2) so i could use it in the replacement delivery.exactly what i needed - will fix it if i have problems with later work
