There are days when I'm very lazy and just want something to kickbox, which quickly slips into my hands. These did their job! I wear them under my real boxing gloves and they protect me from pain very well. My point is that I'm not the type to hit hard. So if you do, it may not provide the "most" protection for your joints. However, if like me you prefer speed, I think these gloves will meet your expectations. My palm is small and my fingers are longer and thinner. So if you have big fingers I would go for a medium size because I would say the finger holes are about a dime if not a bit bigger and they can be too comfy otherwise.
