So the material is a bit strange. The sleeve that came with mine is not at all what was advertised but it still causes the knee brace to slide down and should not be used. knee bandage! This is fantastic! It has a rather low profile, it holds the patella correctly and prevents subluxation/luxation. Even though the side loops look pretty flimsy, they help keep my knees stable. My knees are in very bad shape, but wearing this brace spreads the impact, keeps me stable and makes me much more comfortable and confident. I love that it's reversible (meaning it can be worn on either foot) because I haven't bought a second one yet. The biggest possible problem with wearing two is that they will rub against each other, but that is a problem with all knee pads and these don't seem to separate, which is often the case with velcro straps. The velcro is thick and strong, it is not difficult to work with. I've also read that they are contracted to different companies and quality can vary - I have the blue XL/XXL and am happy with it. Tips: Make sure you measure very carefully, as the manufacturer clearly explains, and don't pull on the strap or it will wear out faster. Oh, and one last thing - yes, there is fabric that wraps around the back of the kneecap. Doesn't pull, doesn't push, doesn't hurt. Basically, the straps at the top and bottom seem to stay in place so they don't press against the back of the knee and cause discomfort. Great job DonJoy!
